Project Content
The project interrelates memory and contemporary art studies from post/decolonial and gender-critical perspectives. The research focuses on art practices (visual art, film, curating, art criticism) in Morocco and across transcultural connections.
By examining artworks, projects, exhibitions, and discourses, this project aims to analyze art's specific epistemologies, concepts, and practices of transmission, critique, and transformation in relation to (trans)cultural memory, subjugated knowledge, and archives under postcolonial conditions.
The research methodologically draws on ethnography, memory studies, and feminist, queer, and postcolonial theory.
