Project Content
Buddyhere is a Berlin-based start-up developing a web platform for university buddy programs and student communities. Our mission is to help students, particularly international students, build connections and settle into university life. The platform combines registration, profiles, matching suggestions, messaging, meetings and events. University coordinators can manage participants, communicate with their communities and generate reports in one place. We are also developing Larkup as an integrated AI module within Buddyhere, enabling users to ask questions about approved information from documents and videos.
The core platform features have been implemented, while the AI module is at the MVP stage and undergoing internal testing. Our priorities for Summer 2027 include improving the platform, developing student-facing communication and preparing events for the winter semester 2027/28. We also plan to investigate international markets and additional applications for Buddyhere.
Interns will work with our team on practical projects combining product development, student engagement and business development.
Tasks for Interns
The intern will help develop Buddyhere’s student-facing marketing, with a focus on Instagram, TikTok and preparations for student events in Berlin for the winter semester 2027/28.

Activities will include researching student interests and needs, developing a content calendar, creating short videos and posts, drafting captions, and supporting community interaction. The intern will also analyse content performance and help connect social media activity with meaningful outcomes, such as interest in the platform, registrations and event sign-ups.

For events, the intern will research suitable formats, such as welcome meetups, peer-networking sessions and orientation workshops. They will help identify potential venues and collaborators and prepare event concepts, indicative budgets, schedules and promotional materials. The summer placement focuses on preparation; attendance during the winter semester is not required.

Expected outputs include a content calendar, a collection of publishable materials, a campaign performance summary and an event preparation plan. Tasks will be selected and prioritized with the supervising team member.

Subject areas and working fields:
  • Economics & Business (Student-facing B2C marketing and campaign analysis.)
  • Communications, Marketing & PR (Social media marketing, content creation, student community engagement and event communication.)
  • Entrepreneurship / Start-up Development (Developing and testing marketing activities in an early-stage start-up.)

We welcome third-year+ bachelor’s and master’s students in marketing, communications, business, media studies or a related field.

Previous professional experience is welcome but not required. Coursework, student projects, personal content creation and involvement in student organizations are relevant experience. German is not required.

Expected Preparation
Review Buddyhere’s website and social media channels and collect a few examples of engaging student-focused content or events.
