Eligibility

To apply for an internship with Humboldt Internship Program, you must be
  • at least 18 years old,
  • fully enrolled at your home university for the whole duration of the internship,
  • an advanced undergraduate student (at least second year), a graduate student or a PhD candidate.

Steps to apply

  1. Select the internship position in the research project or start-up you wish to be part of.
  2. Select two alternative projects as your second and third choice.
  3. Please register at our application portal MoveOn and go through the steps of the registration process.
    The upload of the following documents is required:
    • Proof of identity (scan of passport, ID card)
    • Scan of student ID
    • Resume/CV
    • Statement of Motivation (tailored towards the specific internship project you are applying for)
    • Recommendation Letter from an academic faculty member or a former employer (it can also be sent to the program coordinator by email)
    • Scan of an official transcript of records
  4. Please send a short notification to the project coordinator stating that your application is finished.
  5. You will receive a notification when your application documents are sent to the project supervisors.
  6. Supervisors might ask for an online interview, phone call, or will send an email with questions to students they consider.
  7. Once you are admitted, you will receive an email with further instructions concerning the preparation of your internship.

Application Deadlines

Summer Term Internship 2023:
The application is open from 01 November to 09 December 2022.

Individual Timeframe Internship:
Please start the application process at least four months before the anticipated start date of the internship.
As part of the application process in our application portal, you will be asked to indicate the most suitable dates. After submission of your application, we will check the availability of the projects you have selected.
