Certificates and Credits

Here you will find information about the allocation and recognition of study points from your Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad.

Upon successful participation, you will receive a transcript of records which you can present to your home university. Your home university determines the recognition of credits gained within Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad. Please consult your home university about credit transferability before registration.

Within the framework of the Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad program, you can earn up to 30 ECTS study points. For each completed seminar and each completed language course you will receive 6 ECTS. You can take three, four or five courses from the program catalog, depending on how many ECTS study points you want to receive. For your participation in the accompanying intercultural training, you will receive an additional certificate. It serves as proof of the intercultural skills you will have acquired during your study at Humboldt-Universität.

Background information on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS): ECTS has been developed by the Commission of the European Union to provide standard procedures to ensure academic recognition of studies abroad. ECTS is a credit system based on student workload. One credit point is deemed to be the equivalent of 25-30 working hours which include the lessons, the preparation, follow-up, and examinations.
