Participation in the Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad program involves costs. On this page, we give you an overview of the fees and expected expenses for your study abroad in Berlin.

You can request a change of your course up to four weeks before the start of the course, provided that the maximum number of participants in the new course has not yet been reached. It is not possible to change courses after the course has started. It is possible to switch between language courses if lecturers of both the classes approve the change
Cancellation for the 2024 term is possible until May 31, 2024 and must be made by e-mail. In this case, participants will only receive a refund of the course fee paid (minus bank or credit card charges); the program fee will not be refunded. In case of withdrawal after May 31, 2024, a course fee refund is not possible. In this case, please contact the program office. Exceptions may apply in the event of acute illness before the start of the course (medical certificate must be presented) or if the visa application is rejected. In the event of non-attendance or discontinuation of participation after the start of the program, there is no entitlement to a refund.
If fewer than six people register for a course, Humboldt-Universität may cancel the course up to four weeks before the start of the course. Participants will be notified and informed of alternatives. If no satisfactory alternative is found, participation in the course can be canceled free of charge (minus bank or credit card fees).
Students of a partner university of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin receive a discount of 160 euros on the program fee.
Scholarships for participation in Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad are not awarded by Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, but by external institutions. Please contact:
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) also awards scholarships. Information on country-specific application deadlines and funding requirements can be found on the DAAD website.It is also highly recommended that you search the DAAD scholarship database and contact a DAAD office in your home country.
The application deadlines for scholarships are usually different from those of Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad, so please inform yourself six to eight months before the start of the course. Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad cannot help you with your application for a scholarship.
All fees must be paid in full in one payment by May 20, 2024. The registration will only become effective once the full amount has been received on time. The date of receipt of payment in the Humboldt-Universität account is decisive. Bank charges must be paid by the applicant.
