This course is desigend for USYD students who are primarily seeking instructions in the German language and culture. It places particular emphasis on understanding cultural differences in authentic contexts. Students will have practical language lessons and receive an introduction to German history, politics, culture and society. They will participate in cultural activities such as visits to museums, theatres and memorial sites.
15 students per language group
Participants will receive a final grade certificate and 6 CP if they attend regularly (at least 80% attendance) and participate actively. Additionally, six weeks after the end of the course a Transcript of Records will be issued by Humboldt-Universität.

Students for whom English is not their first language should fulfil one the of the following requirements:- IELTS score of 6.5- TOEFL score of 550 points (paper-based), 80 points (internet-based), 213 points (computer-based)- English Language qualifications as determined by USYD or HU
Students have to be at least 18 years old.
