Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad (HPSA) is the perfect program for anyone who wants to study abroad for a few months and acquire academic knowledge and research-oriented working methods, as well as global skills. The program is inspired by the brothers Alexander and Wilhelm von Humboldt, who believed that traveling and thinking outside the box are essential prerequisites for research and teaching. All courses ...

  • are taught in English
  • are designed at Bachelor level
  • are open to students of all disciplines
  • offer a transdisciplinary approach to a variety of current topics related to Berlin, Germany and Europe
  • are research-oriented and give students space to develop their own questions and topics and work on them independently
  • rely on interactive and discussion-based teaching and learning methods that incorporate the different backgrounds and experiences of the students
  • encourage learning through experience and through reflection on the learning process
  • include excursions in Berlin, so that theory and reading are linked and connected to real places and the history of the city

The accompanying research and intercultural training workshops are an integral part of the program. In addition, students have the option of a German language course so that they can immerse themselves in the culture of their host country.
You can look forward to a community of students from all over the world who will broaden their horizons together and develop new perspectives on their host and home countries!
